Many Filipinos love dogs and among the different breeds that exist, Shih Tzus appear to be their favorite.

In a recent study released by Household Quotes, they modeled out 150 territories to reveal the world’s tastes in favorite canine pets.

“A special mention goes to the Shih Tzu, who makes his only appearance in the Philippines. This homely little fellow is originally from Tibet, and developed as a cross between the Lhasa Apso and other Chinese imperial breeds,” according to the site.

According to American Kennel Club, the Shih Tzu was recognized as a dog breed in 1969.

Shih Tzu can weigh between 9-16 pounds, with a height between 8-11 inches, and has a life expectancy between 10-18 years.

These cute small dogs are very affectionate with children, and spend most of their day inside royal palaces, according to the site.

Shih Tzu is an ideal pet for you if you are living in an apartment or house that lacks space.

Meanwhile, the study finds out that the Rottweiler is the most popular dog in 34 countries while the Australian Shepherd is the most-searched breed in the world, with 913,000 monthly hits, ranked 1st among four countries.

Also, the study shows that the 150 countries seem to have the same interest for just 27 different dog breeds.
