According to the Global industry analysis firm Counterpoint, realme, the lifestyle partner of the youth is the the fastest growing smartphone brand in the world. realme is the only major brand to have achieved a double-digit positive figure with an 11% growth in the second quarter of 2020 and is one of the two brands to have registered a growth with 157% year-on-year. The brand also claims to have a share of the market in Southeast Asia as it records a 102% year-on-year growth in the second quarter of 2020, according to the research firm Canalys.
realme has also expanded its global reach as it added 15 million users worldwide in the first half of 2020 and has already grown its userbase to 40 million. According to Counterpoint Research and IDC, realme has become among the TOP 4 smartphone brands in Thailand, India, Cambodia and Egypt, and TOP 5 in the Philippines, Myanmar, Ukraine, Indonesia, and Vietnam. realme’s global expansion has allowed them to reach out more to the youth, inspiring them to leap beyond their boundaries with realme devices.
Despite the enormous success that realme has achieved over the year, the brand is continuing to strengthen their ecosystem and 5G portfolio. realme has been focused on promoting 5G products in its retail markets by releasing the first 5G-capable flagship phone in India, and Thailand’s first ever 5G phone. realme has also launched its 5G phone in Cambodia and here in the Philippines, the company is partnering with telco companies for the accreditation of its 5G products so that it can be available to the market real soon.
In terms of product design, realme has won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for its X2 Pro Master and this year realme’s Design Studio have collaborated with world-renowned designers Naoto Fukasawa and Jose Levy of Hermes to produce some iconic and trendsetting realme products that will surely capture the youth’s heart.
