The Department of Agriculture (DA) will resume the distribution of the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (PAFFP) for more than 14,000 rice and corn farmers in Antique on July 22.

DA Agricultural Program Coordinating Office-Antique head Sonie Guanco said they will start with the 4,876 validated farmers who will receive PHP2,325 each.

“They are registered with the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA), actively tilling two hectares and below and affected by the energy crisis,” he said in an interview on Friday.

An initial payout was conducted in the second quarter, but some failed to claim their cash assistance. There are also farmers newly registered with the RSBSA.

In total, the PAFFP will cover 50,749 farmers in the 18 municipalities of the province.

Guanco urged farmers to prioritize additional farm inputs using their cash assistance. (PNA)
