President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to support local officials regardless of their political affiliation, saying the focus should be on action, not politics.

According to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, Marcos met with select first-time local officials and reiterated his position that public service must be nonpartisan.

Newly elected local officials officially assumed office last week following their respective victories in the May 12 midterm elections.

“Walang kulay ng pulitika ang paglilingkod sa bayan (There is no political color in public service),” Castro said in a press briefing at the Palace.

“Muling binigyang-katiyakan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang mga local government officials sa patuloy na suporta ng national government sa lahat ng mga programa ng lokal na pamahalaan (President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. once again assured local government officials of the national government’s continued support for all local programs).”

“Anuman ang kanilang political colors, dahil sa Pangulo, aksiyon ang kailangan at ‘di pamumulitika (Regardless of their political colors, for the President, action is needed, not politicking),” she went on.

During the meeting, the President emphasized that as long as public officials work together and remain rooted in genuine love for the country, the nation will stay on the right track.

This engagement with LGUs forms part of the Marcos administration’s push for strong national-local synergy, aligned with its whole-of-government approach to development, disaster response, and economic recovery. (PNA)
