President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has expressed satisfaction over the progress and reforms in the country’s agriculture sector, noting efforts that aim to strengthen farmers’ and fishers’ livelihoods.

At a Palace briefing on Monday, Press Officer Claire Castro said the President commended initiatives under the Department of Agriculture (DA), including the establishment of 33 agri-food hub units in Pampanga, Quezon, Camarines Sur, and Bukidnon.

“The Agri-Food Hub is designed to boost market linkages for agricultural products,” Castro said in Filipino. “It also seeks to enhance the livelihood of farmers and fishers.”

The Marcos administration has also rolled out 145 Rice Processing Systems (RPS) nationwide, with 127 already completed and 18 others under construction.

“Under the leadership of the President, everyone will rise, especially farmers and fishers who are close to his heart,” Castro added.

In addition, the DA is set to inaugurate a mega cold storage facility in Pili, Camarines Sur, in January 2026, with 33 more sites across the country earmarked for future cold storage development. (PNA)
