The Professional Regulation Commission in Davao Region (PRC-11) has implemented several initiatives to improve its services, aligning with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s modernization and digitalization agenda.

During the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas forum here on Tuesday, Arjen Delos Santos, officer-in-charge of PRC-11’s finance and administrative division, highlighted the agency’s shift to an online application and payment system and the adoption of a digitalized licensure examination process.

“President Marcos envisions a Philippines where government agencies are empowered by digital transformation, delivering efficient, accessible, and technology-enabled services to all Filipinos. We wholeheartedly embrace this vision,” Delos Santos said.

The PRC’s modernization efforts include the Computer-Based Licensure Examination (CBLE), which has replaced the traditional paper-and-pencil test. Examinees now type their answers on a computer, allowing for faster processing and enabling results to be released on the final day of the examination period.

“These initiatives not only enhance operational efficiency but also uphold the integrity of licensure examinations while ensuring fairness and transparency,” Delos Santos added.

The PRC oversees 69 major professions, including higher and non-baccalaureate categories. According to Delos Santos, becoming a professional involves not only acquiring technical skills and expertise but also maintaining good moral character.

Since the passage of the PRC Modernization Act of 2000, the agency has steadily moved towards digitalization to improve its services for professionals and aspiring professionals nationwide.

“Through these measures, we aim to create a more citizen-centered government that truly serves the Filipino people,” Delos Santos said. (PNA)
