Two out of six Filipino hip-hop teams representing the Philippines made history by being the world champions in the recent World Hip-Hop Dance Championship in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dance crews from over 55 countries competed in the said international competition from July 30 to August 6.

Filipino dance crew “Legit Status” ruled the MegaCrew division with a total of 7.81 points, while “HQ Dance Collective” reigned in the Adult division with a total of 7.59 points.

Following this impressive sweep is the “UP Streetdance Club,” which clinched the bronze medal in the MegaCrew division with a total of 7.74 points.

At the same time, the Filipino youth dance crew “A-KIDZ” ranked 7th in the Varsity division, and Legit Status ranked 4th in the JV MegaCrew division.

The last Filipino dance team, Class E, proudly represented the Philippines on the world stage as well.

Dominating the world stage of hip-hop dance, all Filipino dance crews are now preparing for the Hip Hop International Philippines competition in 2024.

The World Hip Hop Dance Championship is an international hip-hop dance competition created by the largest dance organization in the world, Hip Hop International.
