A group of Filipino inventors is seeking an audience with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to personally express their willingness to help the Chief Executive achieve his “developmental program” for the country.

“That’s our call. We are united today, the group of the Filipino Inventors Society for our ranks to be heard,” Filipino Inventors Society (FIS) president Ronald Pagsanhan said in a media forum in Quezon City on Tuesday.

“Our main purpose is how we can contribute to the development of our country. Let’s be part of the developmental program of our President, so that’s what we’re asking the President to support us. We have more courage if we know that we have the support of our President,” he added.

The group also appealed for support from lawmakers.

“Of course, we will also ask the Congress and the senators to listen to us,” he said. “We talk more about politics on social media, we should also give more attention to technological science. This is where we should pay attention for the development of our country.”

He said the head of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) should be ready to accept all.

“He/she should not only just be a political appointee, He/she have a heart for inventors, have a heart for technologies, have a heart for science,” he said.

Former FIS president and now Vazbuilt head Gary Vasquez, science research specialist Hanz Alejandra and Filipino-Japanese Engineer Dr. Bert Hasimoto were also present during the forum. (PNA)
