The country’s overall tally of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients who recovered has reached 2,536,260 as 302 new recoveries were recorded on Monday.

In its latest case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH said the figure is equivalent to a 94.8-percent recovery rate from a total of 2,674,814 infections since the start of the pandemic last year.

The total number of active infections in the country is down to 98,894 or 3.7 percent of all cases. The DOH also reported 8,292 new cases on Monday.

Of the active cases, 74.4 percent are mild, 15 percent are asymptomatic, 3.2 percent are severe, 6.14 percent are moderate, and 1.3 percent are in critical condition.

There were 36 new fatalities, bringing the nation’s death toll to 39,660 or 1.48 percent of the total cases.

“The 36 deaths reported reflect the actual death counts based on today’s line list. No backlogs nor technical issues were encountered in today’s extraction,” the DOH said.

It added that 40 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 32 of these are recoveries.

Meantime, 21 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

According to DOH data on October 9, about 16.5 percent of 52,352 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

All laboratories were operational that day while two laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on data in the last 14 days, the two non-reporting laboratories contributed, on average, 0.2 percent of samples tested and 0.4 percent of positive individuals.
