Ranking officials of the Philippine Army (PA) and the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) have reiterated the strong bilateral alliance between the two services.

In a statement on Saturday, PA spokesperson, Col. Louie Dema-ala, said this was during a high-level meeting between Army chief, Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, and USARPAC head, Gen. Ronald Clark, at Fort Bonifacio on Feb. 12.

“The high-level visit also builds on momentum from the December 2025 meeting between the two leaders in Hawaii and the 14th Steering Committee Meeting at Headquarters, Philippine Army in November 2025,” he said.

No other details of the meeting were provided for security reasons.

Clark’s visit, Dema-ala said, came ahead of the upcoming “Salaknib” and “Balikatan” exercises of the two ground forces, both scheduled in April.

The PA is bolstering its security and defense partnership with the USARPAC in line with its active transition from internal security to external security operations.

In the same statement, Nafarrete said the PA is “firmly committed to deepening our partnership with the US Army.”

“Together with like-minded nations, we are dedicated to maintaining regional stability and promoting peace across the broader Indo-Pacific Region,” he said. (PNA)
