The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported that the daily average Covid-19 cases of 239 from April 4 to 10 is 12 percent lower than the new infections prior to the week in review.
In its latest case bulletin, the DOH said there are 1,674 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the recent week.
For the same period, there was only one case added to the tally of severe and critical infections which went down to 664.
Only 16.9 percent or 4,164 out of the 24,645 intensive care unit (ICU) beds in the country are used while 15.8 percent or 450 of 2,842 non-ICU beds are utilized.
Meanwhile, there were 200 verified deaths recorded during the past week.
About 74.28 percent of the country’s target population has been vaccinated against Covid-19.
The DOH also reported that 76.14 percent of the senior citizens have been inoculated against the disease.
The elderly group is composed of 8,721,357 individuals while the country’s target population for inoculation is 80 percent (90,005,357 individuals) of the country’s entire population.
As of April 17, DOH data showed that 66,854,770 individuals are fully vaccinated while 12,641,887 people have received their booster shots. (PNA)
