The overall tally of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) recoveries nationwide climbed to 646,381 with 313 new recovered cases reported on Tuesday.

The latest data from the Department of Health (DOH) show that the figure is equivalent to a 79.5 percent recovery rate among those who contracted the infectious disease nationwide since the start of the pandemic last year.

There are a total of 9,373 new confirmed cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 152,562.

Of the active cases, about 97.5 percent are mild, 1.1 percent are asymptomatic, 0.5 percent are severe, 0.31 are moderate, and 0.5 percent are in critical condition.

Also logged were 382 more deaths, pushing the death toll to 13,817.

“About 11 duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, three were recovered cases. Moreover, 166 cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said.

A DOH data on April 5 showed that 19.9 percent of 27,055 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

Currently, 63 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds, 48 percent of 13,500 isolation beds, 51 percent of 6,000 ward beds, and 45 percent of 2,000 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are utilized nationwide.

Meanwhile, 82 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds, 71 percent of 13,500 isolation beds, 60 percent of 6,000 ward beds, and 63 percent of 2,000 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are utilized in the National Capital Region.

The public is reminded to stay at home and to observe minimum health standards when going out.

The DOH urged those experiencing Covid-19 symptoms to immediately isolate and contact the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams. (PNA)
