The Pasig City government has opened four more vaccination sites to cater to the inoculation of senior citizens in the city.

Mayor Vico Sotto said approximately 4,000 elderly are set to receive their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine this week.

“We hope to cover more as soon as we receive more vaccines from the Department of Health,” Sotto said in social media post.

The city government will provide a free shuttle for senior citizens who are scheduled for Covid-19 vaccination.

The Pasig community bus will be operational from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. within the inoculation schedules.

Sotto reminded the residents that the city government does not allow walk-in applicants for the vaccination drive.

“Limitado ang supply ng vaccine mula sa Department of Health. Dito nakadepende ang schedule at dami ng ating pwedeng mabakunahan. Di pa po dumarating ang bakuna na binili ng Pasig City Government (There is a limited vaccine supply from the DOH. The schedule and number of vaccinees will depend on it. The vaccines procured by the city government have not yet arrived),” he said.

Sotto urged residents to sign up for the city-wide vaccination campaign.

Meanwhile, Sotto announced the city government has received PHP681,743,000 fund for financial assistance.

Recipients of the government’s “ayuda”(assistance) payout are those who previously received cash aid through social amelioration program (SAP), vulnerable groups, SAP waitlisted, low-income individuals living alone, persons with disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, and those who are highly affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Each recipient of up to four household members will get PHP1,000.

Sotto said they are already preparing the payout for the cash aid.

The city government is yet to announce the schedules of the financial aid distribution. (PNA)
