The Pasig City government is implementing three financial aid distribution systems to prevent crowding and ensure that physical distancing is observed.

The first is the house-to-house distribution of cash assistance, which began Friday, to select areas in 30 villages identified as “pockets of poverty” by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The poorest families affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) will be prioritized by 40 distribution teams.

At the same time, long queues and flocking of residents to distribution areas will be avoided.

Past beneficiaries of the social amelioration program, meanwhile, will receive their cash assistance via online money transfer PayMaya.

Lastly, the city government will conduct on-site distribution in designated villages at still undetermined dates.

The list of qualified cash recipients validated and approved by the DSWD will be posted in all villages.

Mayor Vico Sotto said the national government allotted PHP681,743,000 for Pasig.

Each qualified resident will receive PHP1,000 with a maximum of four recipients per household. (PNA)
