The provincial government of Pangasinan, the San Carlos City government, and a Pangasinense general have donated various equipment, food items, personal protective equipment, and a lot to the Pangasinan police.

In an interview on Wednesday, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) information officer Maj. Arturo Melchor Jr. said the San Carlos City government under Mayor Julier Resuello has donated four motorcycles, an L300 van, and 30 body vests to be used by the city police.

The provincial government of Pangasinan, under Governor Amado Espino III, has turned over a truckload of food, facemasks, face shields, 30 cellular phones, 20 solar lights for project Pailaw of PPPO, and 10 water pumps, he said.

“The 20 cellphones will be utilized at the border checkpoints, while the food items, water pumps, solar lights, and the facemasks and face shields will be for the different beneficiaries of Pulis at Komunidad As One BARANGAYanihan,” Melchor said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Director for Police Community Relations of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Brig. Gen. Harris Fama has donated one hectare of land in Barangay Capantolan in Sual town.

The lot will be the area of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) K9 Unit of the Ilocos Region, Melchor said.

The equipment and other items were turned over on Wednesday and the deed of donation for the lot was signed by Fama and PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar.

In his speech, Espino thanked the PNP and assured the province’s continuous support of its various programs. (PNA)
