A cooperative in Asingan town now offers free agricultural training skills to residents aiming to work overseas.

Bantog Samahanang Nayon Multi-Purpose Cooperative chairman Rolly Mateo Sr. said Tuesday they established a learning center to provide affordable certificates for employment abroad.

“It was somehow costly to attend training and secure a certificate, so we decided to open our own site and run our own learning center,” Mateo said in Filipino.

Training is free for Asingan residents, while others may enroll for PHP10,000, inclusive of board and lodging. Courses include dairy processing, animal management, and tractor driving, lasting up to 35 days.

Mateo said some trainees who started in 2024 now work in Japan, New Zealand and Canada. (PNA)
