P-pop boy group SB19 continues to prove their growing popularity both in the Philippines and abroad, with their name entering Teen Vogue’s list of “Favorite Boy Bands of All Time.”

“For decades, every era of music has had its own collection of iconic boy bands. From screaming fans of the Beatles in the 1960s to the height of the Jackson Five’s fame in the ’70s straight on to the ARMY members devoted to BTS today, boy bands have had a hold on music listeners throughout many generations,” the lifestyle magazine wrote.

Teen Vogue magazine published the list on July 14, including 33 boy bands from different generations and genres that made a mark throughout the years. SB19 becomes the only Filipino boy band to make it to the list.

“Josh, Pablo, Stell, Ken, and Justin are the five members of the Filipino boy band known as SB19. They were formed in 2016 after winning a talent search, going on to release a studio album along with eight singles. They’ve continued achieving heights of popularity in early 2022 with the release of their hit ‘Bazinga’,” the lifestyle and fashion magazine described the group.

Together with SB19 on the list are iconic and award-winning names like BTS, Boyz II Men, One Direction, Backstreet Boys, Five Seconds of Summer, Jonas Brothers, and Westlife.

Several K-Pop groups aside from BTS also made an appearance on the list, including SEVENTEEN, MONSTA X, EXO, BIG BANG, SHINee, and Seo Taiji and The Boys.

SB19 trained under Korean-run entertainment company ShowBT Philippines and debuted in 2018 with the song “Tilaluha”.

The group made history as the first-ever Filipino act to be nominated in the Billboard Music Awards Top Social Artist category in 2021 and for entering Billboard’s Top 50 Social Artists of 2020. They recently won 2nd in the 2022 Billboard Fan Army Face-Off with their fandom, A’TIN.

SB19 is also the newest voice behind Binibining Pilipinas’ theme song, “Win Your Heart”, released last July 11, 2022, ahead of the most-awaited Coronation Night.
