More than 95,000 employment opportunities will be available at the 55 job fair sites nationwide in celebration of the 128th Independence Day on Friday, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said Monday.

Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino said 1,181 local and overseas employers are expected to participate in the simultaneous job fairs organized by DOLE regional offices and Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs), offering a total of 95,240 vacancies across various industries.

The top vacancies are in retail, manufacturing, construction, business process outsourcing, and accommodation and food services. Among the most in-demand positions are sales clerks/store crew, production operators, construction workers, call center representatives, and service crew.

The job fairs will feature one-stop-shop services for documentary requirements through participating agencies, including the NBI, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG. Career development support will also be available, with TESDA offering skills training opportunities.

Additional services include training courses and micro-credential programs from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT); assistance on eligibility requirements, training schedules, and government vacancies from the Civil Service Commission (CSC); and support for near-hire applicants through training referrals and job-matching assistance.

Job seekers are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resumes and other pre-employment documents to facilitate processing and increase their chances of on-the-spot hiring.

The initiative aims to provide immediate employment and income opportunities for unemployed and underemployed Filipinos within their communities.

DOLE TRABAHO AGAD, a nationwide hiring initiative, will be held simultaneously at 55 venues beginning June 10. Hosted in key locations and major malls, the job fairs are designed to make employment services more accessible and convenient for job seekers while helping employers connect with a wider pool of qualified applicants.

DOLE said the number of participating employers and available vacancies is expected to increase in the coming days.

The nationwide activity forms part of the administration’s efforts under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to expand access to decent work opportunities and help unemployed Filipinos reenter the workforce. (PNA)
