Over 63,000 Antiqueños have availed of the Assistance to Individuals is Crisis Situation (AICS) and Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) this 2025, data from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) showed.

Darlene Abagat, Antique Social Welfare and Development team leader, said in an interview on Friday that around PHP462 million in AICS and AKAP was released from Jan. 1 to Nov. 11.

“There were outright cash assistance and guarantee letters that were given to the beneficiaries,”she said.

Aid under AICS is intended for cash relief, education, food, funeral, medical and transportation. It is almost the same for AKAP, although it does not cover transportation and education.

“The educational assistance was released under AICS to students belonging to low-income families,”she said.

Educational assistance aimed to assist in-school children in elementary, secondary and college levels, preferably those who are not recipients of scholarship programs. (PNA)
