Over 425,000 individuals have received their second booster shot of the Covid-19 vaccine, a health official said Friday.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said almost 14.5 million individuals have an up-to-date vaccination or have received their first booster shot while 69.7 million are fully vaccinated as of June 9.
“We have already almost 9.4 million fully inoculated adolescents along with more than three million children fully vaccinated,” she said in an online media forum.
The country has seen a slight increase in cases for the week of June 2 to 8 at 197 which is 9 percent higher than the 180 cases logged in the previous week.
Vergeire said the slight increase “is not observed to be sustained” but the national positivity rate increased to 1.3 percent.
“Nationally, we’re remaining under low-risk classification with positive one-week and two-week growth rates since May 25. Despite increase in cases, the daily attack rate remains at less than one case per 100,000 population,” she said.
Currently, the national hospital admissions are on a plateau with a slight increase of 268 admissions or six percent — from 4,820 to 5,080.
The total bed utilization slightly increased by one percent while the intensive care unit utilization is at a plateau at 16 percent and low-risk classification. (PNA)
