Over 115,000 employment opportunities are available to job seekers at the nationwide job fairs in celebration of Labor Day on May 1, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said.

In a statement Thursday, the department said its regional offices have identified 88 job fair sites, with the majority strategically located in malls to ensure convenience, accessibility, and wider public reach, as of April 23.

Initial data revealed that a total of 1,280 local employers are set to participate in the simultaneous job fair activities, offering 115,358 job vacancies across various industries.

The top vacancies are in the wholesale and retail, manufacturing, construction, business process outsourcing, and accommodation and food service sectors.

Among the in-demand positions are stock clerks and sales associates for retail operations; production operators and production workers for manufacturing; carpenters, foremen, and steelmen for construction; customer service representatives for the BPO industry; and service crew, line cooks, and baristas for the hospitality sector.

The jobs fair supports the thrust of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration on poverty alleviation by expanding employment opportunities.

Jobseekers are encouraged to visit any of the designated venues and bring multiple copies of their application documents, including resumes and valid identification cards. (PNA)
