Residents from 1,364 villages in Pangasinan and 576 in La Union will benefit from the Bagong Pilipinas Mobile Clinics, a part of the Lab for All Project of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos that aims to deliver free basic healthcare to the people.

The Provincial Information Offices of Pangasinan and La Union, in a phone interview on Friday, confirmed that the mobile primary care facilities, which were received personally from the First Lady by provincial government executives during an event in Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga on July 10, will be used in their medical missions

“It will be used for the regular medical missions in the villages as one of the services. We are just waiting for the license to operate from the Department of Health (DOH),” the La Union PIO said.

The Pangasinan PIO, meanwhile, said the mobile clinic will be utilized in the recently launched Kamustahan sa Barangay and the ongoing Lingap Ed Barangay, which are both conducting free medical services, among others, especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

DOH-Ilocos regional director Paula Paz Sydiongco, in a statement on Friday, said the mobile clinics are equipped with an ultrasound examination light, reagent refrigerator, binocular microscope and stethoscope, ophthalmoscope, clinical centrifuge, hematocrit centrifuge, hematology analyzer, handheld electrolyte analyzer and a telemedicine set for medical services including X-ray, ultrasound and blood screening.

“Health services will be faster, easier, and residents will have better access to health services, considering that not all rural health units have the needed diagnostic procedures,” she said.

The mobile clinics will be managed by a DOH-trained health personnel from the provincial health office while the provincial government will be in charge in the maintenance and repairs of the Toyota Coaster 2024 model vehicles.

Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III and La Union Governor Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David, in their respective social media accounts, thanked the national government for the mobile clinics, which, they said, will greatly benefit their constituents. (PNA)
