Pet parents from the South are invited to open their homes to furry friends as Southwoods Mall hosts A Fur-pect Home, a pet adoption event in partnership with non-profit organizations Pawssion Project and Lara’s Ark.
Pet lovers may meet 13 dogs that are up for adoption from 10AM to 4PM on October 9, at the Southwoods Garden Atrium.
To be eligible for adoption, interested individuals must pre-register until October 7 through this link: https://forms.gle/9dEkS4Cncs9cqzMp8. After which, they will be pre-screened, interviewed and contacted via email. There will be an adoption fee of P1,000, which will be used to fund medical supplies, vet bills, daily necessities, dog handler salaries and kennel construction. These dogs are fully vaccinated, dewormed, neutered/spayed and cleared by a veterinarian. Proud adopters will get a free Adopter shirt from Lara’s Ark.
Approved adopters will meet their furry buddy on the adoption day. They can bond with the dogs and select their pick from 9AM to 10AM prior to their public opening. For those who are unable to make it to the preregistration cutoff, Lara’s Ark will also hold an onsite interview for walk-in adopters. Pet lovers are reminded to strictly wear their face mask and face shield and practice social distancing.
Aside from the pet adoption event, Southwoods is also coming up with fun-filled pet-friendly activities as part of its No Pet Left Behind campaign.
Pet lovers who are unable to take in pets may also help the cause by raising funds for Pawssion Project, which operates shelters in Bulacan and Bacolod City. Owners may also have their pets vaccinated at budget-friendly rates at Vax for Pets on Oct. 9. On the same day, pet merchandise and products from Lara’s Ark will also be up for sale. Pet lovers may purchase tote bags, umbrellas and t-shirts to show their pride and raise awareness or treat their furbabies to treats and pampering products. Proceeds from the sale will fund Lara’s Ark shelters in Mandaluyong and Nasugbu, Batangas.
Love knows no breed. Aspin lovers can proudly declare their love for their pets by sharing ‘Then and Now’ photos of their furbabies at Southwoods Mall’s My Furbaby Photo Contest. Participating pet owners will get a chance to win exciting prizes.
Pawssion Project is a non-profit organization focusing on the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of animals in need.
