The city government here launched its Uswag Atipan (Care) Center, a one-stop shop for all government services, on Monday.

“This center is more than just a program — it is a promise. Today, we open the doors of the Uswag Pag-Atipan Center, a place where compassion meets action and public service becomes personal,” center manager Mark Ryan Acap said during the launch on the seventh floor of the city hall.

The center, with 35 staff members, offers a diverse range of services, including:

  • Social support: Case study assistance, welfare programs, mass weddings, baptisms, senior citizen cards, and grooming services
  • Health and dental care: Medical consultations, maternity care, immunizations, prenatal services, dentures, circumcision, pharmacy access, dialysis, and lab tests
  • Livelihood and educational programs: Government internships, training, scholarships and job placements
  • Burial assistance: Caskets, flowers, tents, cemetery vaults, rice aid and wake visitation scheduling
  • Financial aid: Support for hospital bills, medical tests, laboratories and crisis intervention

The “womb-to-tomb” one-stop shop initiative was conceptualized after Mayor Raisa Treñas conducted community visits to listen to the needs of residents.

Treñas said all services are free for residents, with similar centers to be established in various districts for better accessibility. (PNA)
