Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia assumed his new post on Tuesday as the new regional director of the Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon), replacing Brig. Gen. Joel Napoleon M. Coronel.

Sermonia, who belongs to Philippine Military Academy Class of 1989, was the former deputy director of the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR) prior to his new assignment.

Coronel, on the other hand, was appointed as the new head of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

“This is like a homecoming for me since I was assigned in Bataan, I would like to express my profound gratitude to our OIC PNP chief, Police Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa for the trust and confidence he has given me and, with my gratitude, I offer him my pledge that I shall do my utmost best to perform my duties with the cooperation of every one. I urge everyone to extend to me the same support you have extended to Brig. Gen. Coronel so that, together, we will continue to keep PRO-3 safe and peaceful at all times,” Sermonia said during the turnover ceremony here.

Sermonia was the former head of the Police Community Relations Group and served as the provincial director of Bataan from October 2014 to July 2016.

After the simple rites, he immediately met with all the provincial and city police directors in the region. (PNA)
