The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has opened a Negosyo Center in Manjuyod town to provide support and services to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), an official said Wednesday.
The center was inaugurated Tuesday in an event attended by DTI-Negros Oriental Provincial Director Juliet Banogon and Manjuyod Mayor Raffy Alipio Andaya.
Krystle Jade Bato, DTI-Negros Oriental spokesperson, said the Manjuyod center is the second of three Negosyo Centers scheduled to open this year, following the opening of the first in Zamboanguita. The third is set to open in Sta. Catalina later this year.
The new facility brings the total number of Negosyo Centers in Negros Oriental to 20, including those established in 19 local government units (LGUs) and the provincial office.
Bato said six LGUs – Jimalalud, Tayasan, Vallehermoso, Basay, Bacong, and San Jose – have yet to establish Negosyo Centers.
Bato quoted Banogon saying in her message that the DTI is bringing its services and business opportunities closer to the people of Manjuyod.
“Let this center become a place where a simple business idea can find guidance, a small enterprise can find opportunities, and a local entrepreneur can find the support needed to take the next step,” she said.
“Together, let us make Manjuyod not only a destination worth visiting, but also a community where businesses can thrive and where every Manjuyodnon has the opportunity to prosper.”
The center will provide free business name registration, business advisory services, training programs, and assistance in accessing financial resources for MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Under the partnership, the municipal government offers the space for the center, while the DTI provides personnel to operate it.
Bato said the DTI may open three more Negosyo Centers in the province this year if additional funding becomes available.
The Negosyo Center program aims to promote ease of doing business and help MSMEs start, grow and sustain their enterprises through accessible government services and support. (PNA)
