The Negros Occidental provincial government has established a surgical treatment system for all 11 Capitol-run hospitals located in various towns and cities across the province.

Dubbed the “One Hospital System”, the initiative allows a complete medical team to be deployed to each hospital on a scheduled basis to perform elective surgery procedures.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said in a statement on Tuesday that Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson conceptualized the system to make the services of the doctors accessible to Negrenses in-need.

“We bring our doctors to the people. Doctors are not confined to serve in one hospital. Patients do not need to be referred to distant hospitals,” he added.

On Monday, the “One Hospital System” was launched at Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital in Himamaylan City.

The deployed medical team successfully performed procedures such as hemorrhoidectomy, inguinal hernia repair, debridement of septic arthritis, and dilatation and curettage, and abnormal uterine bleeding.

Diaz said the concept aims to bring medical services closer to the people anchored on the administration’s Abanse Negrense Priority Development Agenda.

The other Capitol-run health facilities in Negros Occidental include the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Cadiz District Hospital in Cadiz City, Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City, Don Salvador Memorial District Hospital in La Carlota City, Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in Escalante City, Merceditas Montilla District Hospital Sipalay City, Ignacio L. Arroyo Memorial District Hospital in Isabela, Calatrava District Hospital in Calatrava, Valladolid District Hospital in Valladolid, and Eleuterio T. Decena Memorial Hospital in Hinoba-an.(PNA)
