The Philippines has administered 64,195,936 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, with 29,477,961 Filipinos already fully protected against the dreaded virus, according to the National Covid-19 Vaccination dashboard.

At the Laging Handa press briefing on Monday, National Task Force Against Covid-19 chief

implementer, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., said the steady delivery of vaccines since October has allowed the government to further ramp up the nationwide rollout.

Galvez said the government also capacitated some local government units in the provinces to handle highly sensitive brands such as Pfizer, Moderna, and Sputnik V.

Forty cold chain storage units donated by the United States government are being distributed to far-flung areas to aid in their inoculation drives, Galvez said.

“Hopefully, by this week and next week, tataas na iyong ating capacity and at the same time, tataas na rin ang ating administration this coming two weeks na darating (we could increase our capacity and at the same time, the administration of jabs will also increase in the coming two weeks),” he added.

The country’s average daily vaccination rate during the last seven days stood at 697,025 doses.

The Philippines has so far received 110,646,500 doses, both procured and donated.

Additional 2,805,000 doses of Sputnik V (Components I and II) are arriving Monday night while 793,900 doses of AstraZeneca donated by the German government via the COVAX Facility will be flown in late Tuesday afternoon. (PNA)
