Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo on Thursday said the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) continues to develop various aspects of the police operation, particularly the use of modern technology, to ensure high-quality public service in Metro Manila.

In a statement, Okubo said the NCRPO is currently collaborating with both the public and private sectors for innovative methods and equipment that can greatly assist authorities to carry out more aggressive and effective law enforcement operations.

He cited the recent presentation made by the Safer PH Innovations Inc., a private company specializing in communication and technology, held at NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City last June 20.

Some of the innovative technology demonstrated by the firm include Policecoms, Police Drone Systems and Mobile Command, license plate recognition technology, virtual shot marksmanship training, and several communication devices, particularly the “ATAK” mobile application for faster response.

The same company also showcased a flight of “Sky Drones” that can be used in the conduct of tactical operations, search and rescue and search and retrieval operations.

Okubo said the NCRPO remains open to collaborations that can help to increase the level of service it provides to the people of Metro Manila.

“Lahat ng maaaring makatuwang natin ay binibigyan ng pantay na pagkakataon, lalo na at pare-parehas ang ating layunin na panatilihing maayos at ligtas ang ating komunidad (Anyone who can be our partners are given equal opportunity, especially since we share the same goal of keeping our community orderly and safe),” he said.
