The first on-screen Muslim superhero is ready to dominate your television screens as Disney+ revealed the first trailer of the new superhero series of MCU, Ms. Marvel, on March 15.

Starring Iman Vellani, she plays the character of Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager from Jersey City who admires Captain Marvel.

The first trailer revolves around her fascination with Captain Marvel. She’s the normal teenager who has groups of friends, is a curious girl, has low self-esteem wherein she feels like she doesn’t fit with anyone around her, and just like every teenage girl in high school, she also has a crush on a guy, as seen in the trailer. A tradition of Muslims was also seen, emphasizing Khan’s origin.

As the 1:47 minute trailer keeps going, Khan is seen in a room, discovering a bracelet that will soon change her teenage life. She will soon find out that she’s just like Captain Marvel, who she looks up to, by realizing that she’s also a superhero.

As revealed in the comics, Khan is known to be an Inhuman who can manifest powers when exposed to a substance called Terrigen Mists. Right after the release of the first trailer, Brie Larson who portrayed Captain Marvel retweeted the said trailer earning wild reactions from Marvel fans.

Ms. Marvel will start streaming on June 8 on Disney+. Netizens are already anticipating the arrival of a new superhero in town.
