Committed to nourishing champion ambitions in sports and in life, MILO Philippines has been on top of addressing the most pressing concerns and queries facing the parents today with the launch of its online discussion via MILO Home Court Huddle.

Gathering thousands of moms online last September 6, Sunday, MILO Philippines proved to be a relatable and reliable support system as it connected parents to distinguished panel of sports experts and seasoned parents to lead a discussion on the importance of staying active and healthy while at home, and how sports affect a child’s overall wellness and character formation.

Joined by Kapuso Host Suzi Entrata-Abrera, MILO Champion, SEA Games Gold Medalist, and dad of two Japoy Lizardo and U.P. College of Human Kinetics – Department of Sports Science Asst. Professor and Sports Psychology Consultant Mona Adviento-Maghanoy, MAPsych, MILO Home Court Huddle aimed to be an insightful and helpful parenting webinar that talked about the “Holistic Health of Kids sa ‘New Normal.”

“Studies prove that two to three minutes of intense physical activity will improve attention and focus, and this is important for kids especially when they are studying at home,” shared Maghanoy. She also said, “engaging in physical activity in sports leads to positive emotions. Now more than ever, kids need this especially with all this uncertainty being inside our homes for a prolonged period of time.”

Meanwhile, Japoy Lizardo emphasized that the key to child’s success in sports and in life is the parent’s support as he looked back and shared his humble beginnings to inspire parents and kids.

When asked how she managed her kids to stay active and healthy, Kapuso host Suzi answered, “I make sure they understand why being active during this time is really important. Since they are older, I can explain to them easily why exercise and eating healthy are important to strengthen our immune system. Give them also the opportunity to choose what activity they would like to do.”
