Tesla and SpaceX Founder and chief executive officer Elon Musk announced the formation of his new artificial intelligence (AI) company, “xAI,” which aims to “understand reality.”
The AI company was launched on July 12 with the goal of understanding the “true nature of the universe,” as per its website.
On its Twitter account, the AI company posted a tweet with the question “What are the most fundamental unanswered questions?” that has garnered over eight million views and 15,000 comments in just ten hours since posting.
The xAI team is led by Center for AI Safety Director Dan Hendrycks and is composed of researchers and computer engineers who have worked at technology firms such as DeepMind, Open AI, and Tesla, among others.
On July 14, xAI will hold a Twitter Spaces chat where Twitter users can meet its team and ask them questions regarding AI and the company.
Following its recent launch, xAI is currently looking for experienced engineers and researchers who could join their team as technical staff members.
