The city government of Mati in Davao Oriental donated PHP8 million worth of equipment and materials for module reproduction to the Department of Education (DepEd).

In an interview on Tuesday, city information officer Ben Jason Tesiorna said Mayor Michelle Raba turned over the equipment–procured through the city’s Special Education Fund–to the local schools division on Monday.

“You know I’m not into ceremonies; that is not my style. I want urgent action. If you ask me, then I will give because that’s my job as your city mayor,” Rabat was quoted as telling the DepEd officials.

She also thanked the teachers for innovating and adapting the new normal mode of learning.

“With the new normal, I know how challenging it is for all of you. I thank you all for adjusting, innovating, and adapting to this new normal for our children because, after all, we should not sacrifice education,” Rabat said. (PNA)
