A total of 117,027 minors aged 12 to 17 years old have been fully vaccinated in Manila against the dreaded coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

As of Sunday, 254,287 Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered to the age group.

The capital city is now preparing for the vaccination of 5 to 11-year-olds, with the initial rollout in select venues set this coming Friday.

The newly renovated Manila Zoo will be one of the six initial sites while the Bagong Ospital ng Maynila is also ready once needed.

The Manila Health Department was informed the low-dose Pfizer vaccines for the youngest age group will arrive on February 2.

As of January 26, a total of 11,281 aged 5 to 11 and 186,302 aged 12 to 17 have registered for Covid-19 jabs, according to the Manila Public Information Office.

As of Sunday noon, Manila has 1,351 active Covid-19 cases, down from the previous day’s 1,488. (PNA)
