The Makati city government’s drive-through Vaccination On-The-Go (VAX-OTG) program has gone full blast, boosting the city’s capacity to inoculate residents.

“Naniniwala ako na habang mas maraming #ProudMakatizens ang nababakunahan, mas mabilis tayong magkakaroon ng tinatawag na herd immunity sa ating komunidad, kung saan mas titibay ang ating mga katawan laban sa coronavirus (I believe that while more #ProudMakatizens will be inoculated, the faster we could achieve the so-called herd immunity in our community, wherein our bodies will get stronger against the coronavirus disease 2019 [Covid-19]),” Mayor Abby Binay said in a statement on Tuesday.

Binay said the city government went through diligent planning on logistics and handling other requirements to put up VAX-OTG at the Ayala Malls Circuit, the site of the former Sta. Ana Racetrack and near the City Hall.

Schedule is by online registration at website proudmakatizen.com, accommodating only persons with disabilities and bedridden residents, who will be fetched by the local government if they have no vehicles.

Similar to regular vaccination procedures, there will be counseling and screening before the vaccination that will be done inside the vehicle.

Recipients may stay for at least 30 minutes to monitor after-effects.

Makati had 1,028 active Covid-19 cases as of Monday. (PNA)
