Mayor Benjamin Magalong has ordered the inclusion of five-minute exercise in the flag-raising ceremony of the city government.

“I want a Monday activity, just to prop-up our wellness program,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

He said the Monday morning exercise will not just lighten up the mood of the employees which is good for the mental health and will also allow them to sweat even for just a few minutes of continuous physical exercise.

He said the order was to encourage everybody to participate, not just the city officials.

“Some people there would like to dance pero nahihiya lang siguro (but were just shy). Next time, lahat ng tao sasayaw hindi lang officials (everyone will dance not just the city officials),” the mayor said.

He said exercise also adds zest, which might further heighten the employees’ enthusiasm to start the week’s work.

During Monday’s flag-raising, the dance part was greatly applauded by the employees present, expressing desire to have it as part of the program. (PNA)
