Seeing the need to provide support to their colleagues hit by the major earthquakes in Mindanao, the officers and staff of the Land Transportation Office in Caraga Region (LTO-13) handed over cash assistance for LTO personnel in Region 12.

In a phone interview on Tuesday (November 12), Department of Transportation Caraga region (DOTR-13) Acting Regional Director Nordy Plaza said they formally turned over to LTO-12 Director Bong Gonzaga the amount of PHP100,000 on Monday to help LTO employees in the area who were affected by earthquakes.

Plaza said the amount was donated by LTO-13 personnel, groups, and concerned individuals.

“This is our way of providing support to our co-workers in the government who at present are in dire need especially for their families,” Plaza said.

He added that the decision to extend assistance was unanimously agreed upon by the officers and staff of LTO-13.

Plaza said they also delivered packed relief goods to Tulunan, North Cotabato for residents who continue to suffer from the brunt of earthquakes.

The 300 packs of relief goods that contained rice, can goods, and other basic necessities were received by Tulunan Mayor Reuel Limbungan.

The relief goods worth more than P80,000 were accumulated from contributions of LTO-13 officers, personnel and from other individuals, Plaza said. (PNA)
