Jeremy G has released his very first Christmas single “Ngayong Pasko,” bringing his own flavor into the melancholic holiday track originally recorded by fellow Kapamilya singer Erik Santos.
“An early Christmas gift for all of you,” the former “The Voice Teens Philippines” season 1 grand finalist said.
Jeremy secured Erik’s stamp of approval when the latter commented on his Instagram post, describing the new version of “Ngayong Pasko” as “better” than the original.
“Ngayong Pasko” was first released in 2007 as part of Erik’ “All I Want This Christmas” album. It was written and composed by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo. Jeremy’s revival was produced by Star POP head Rox Santos, arranged by Tommy Katigbak, and mixed and mastered by Dan Tañedo.
Unlike many cheerful Christmas tunes, the song conveys sorrow over the prospect of Christmas because of painful memories associated with it.
Prior to this latest music release, the Star POP artist dropped “Dito Na Lang” this year and also collaborated with fellow young artist Jayda for the song “Perfectly Imperfect” last 2019.
Recently, Jeremy and composer Kiko “KIKX” Salazar also won the Awit Award for Best R&B recording for his first original single “Sa’Yo.”
