Singer-songwriter couple Moira Dela Torre and Jason Hernandez have broken up after three years of marriage.

In an Instagram post, Hernandez announced their split by posting a short statement that reads, “It is with a heavy heart that after 3 years of marriage, we announce that we are parting ways. Our love and respect for each other remains. We request for privacy during this difficult time.”

A short caption was penned by Hernandez. He stated that “it is only right you hear this from me,” addressing their fans who have been with them for a long time.

Hernandez also expressed transparency to fans by explaining the reason behind the breakup.

“3 years ago, I married my bestfriend with the intent of spending the rest of my life with her. Though my love for her has always been genuine, a few months ago, I confessed to Moira that I have been unfaithful to her during our marriage,” he disclosed.

Hernandez stated that he understands that dela Torre needed to know the truth, so he is taking full responsibility for his “unfaithfulness”.

He ends the Instagram caption by apologizing to their fans who are hurt by the news and to dela Torre. Hernandez promised that he is “doing his best” to become a better person.

Dela Torre and Hernandez made news when the star couple married in January 2019.

In April of this year, netizens noticed that dela Torre had deleted all photos and videos of Hernandez on her Instagram account.

This had resulted in rumors about the couple’s split, which Hernandez initially dismissed via a Twitter post.
