SM Prime Holdings Chair daughter of Henry Sy Jr., Catherine Sy died on Thursday night, March 18. She’s the eldest of the 3 daughters, 29, and the granddaughter of the famous SM Group founder, Henry Sy.
She was admitted to the St. Luke’s Medical Center due to an infection but concerned DJ TonyToni posted on Twitter stating Catherine Sy is in septic shock and was asking for A+ or AB+ blood donor.
“Manila Friends! A Jan Catherine Sy is in septic shock right now at St. Luke’s BGC. She needs A+ or AB+ from a male blood donor. Look for her parents Henry Sy Jr. and Princess at the hospital if you need more details,” Toni posted.

However, a few days later, Sy’s relative announced on Facebook, “Dear Family and Friends, tonight, March 18, 2021 at 6:35 p.m., our dearest daughter Jan Catherine Sy is now with the Lord Jesus already. Blessed be the name of the LORD. You give and take away. My heart will choose to say, Lord, BLESSED BE YOUR NAME!”

Also, Sen. Joel Villanueva posted on Twitter as he expressed sympathy to the Sy family, “Devastating to hear the passing of Sis.
