The panic caused by the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) has lead people to be alert of a faceless enemy more than ever. This unprecedented situation has lead consumers hording essentials right before a lockdown was implemented. Included in these products are food staples, alcohol, and most of all, face masks (or surgical masks).

Eventually, face masks experienced stock shortage right when frontliners need it most.

Surgical masks are worn by health workers during surgeries. However, due to the ‘new normal’ being imposed, everybody going outside are now required to don one.

Due to the ‘new normal’, people being exposed at the public are now complied a face mask. Even after the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), health and safety guidelines remain strictly observed everywhere.

To compensate more supplies for the frontliners, youtuber Nanay Expres has come up with an easy way to create your own stylish and reusable face mask at home. Here’s how you can make one:

Materials:

• Scissors
• Needle & thread
• 1-2 Patterned fabrics (depending on your preference)
• Burp cloth/Lampin
• Elastics/garter
• Face mask
