As President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday appealed to help the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the provincial government of Ilocos Norte called on MSMEs to become a partner merchant of BuyIN, a digital platform that assists them in promoting and selling their products in the face of the pandemic.

Inspired by the “BUYanihan” culture that emerged during the Covid-19 crisis, Governor Matthew Joseph Manotoc said Monday that BuyIN aims to “regulate, support and promote potential and existing MSMEs” to have a wider following online and generate more sales.

All MSMEs in the province, particularly those who produce artisanal and home-grown brands and products, are encouraged to register.

As a partner merchant, applicants will be asked to sign an affidavit of undertaking (AOU) valid for three months.

During this period, the MSME will have free access to marketing consultations, get promoted in the BuyIN digital platform, and be part of future BuyIN pop up shop events.

After three months, the partner merchant’s membership will be reviewed depending on the commitment to the activities of the BuyIN community. The AOU can be renewed for at least six months.

As of this posting, online registration is ongoing by following the link https://tinyurl.com/y76mcwwh or scan the QR Code to access the online registration form.

Meanwhile, the first BuyIN bazaar will be launched on July 29-31 at the Provincial Capitol lobby.

The three-day event will feature export quality products like Inabel masks, leather bags with Inabel accessories, artisanal meat products, locally produced coffee beans, scrumptious cheesy ensaymada, clay pots including outdoor and indoor plants.

“The bazaar is part of BuyIN’s goal to support and promote local entrepreneurs and their products. We hope you come and let’s start the trend! Let’s support local, and love local,” the organizers said.

During the event, bazaar participants are expected to follow all health protocols, especially wearing masks at all times and safe physical distancing. (PNA)
