Provincial governors from the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) are scheduled to meet President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday afternoon to reaffirm their support for his administration, Malacañang announced.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the courtesy call aims to strengthen collaboration between local and national governments and support key legislative initiatives.

The purpose of the LPP’s courtesy call is to convey their support for President Marcos Jr.’s leadership and for the passage of important legislative proposals),” Castro said in a press briefing at the Palace.

The meeting comes amid ongoing public scrutiny of flood control projects, which have been linked to alleged anomalies in procurement and implementation.

Castro emphasized that the government continues to uphold transparency, accountability, and responsible use of public funds.

The government also continues to uphold transparency, accountability, and responsible use of public funds, especially in the national budget process),” she said.
