How do you like that, BLINKs? After months of speculation from fans of the global superstar, BLACKPINK’s Jennie appears in the first trailer of the upcoming HBO Max series, The Idol.

Although there is no official confirmation yet from its producer regarding Jennie’s role in the series—whether it’s a cameo appearance or a supporting role—it seems as though she will be acting as one of the background dancers for the series lead Lily-Rose Depp. According to the series’ IMDb page, she is set to appear in six episodes.

In the trailer, Jennie makes an appearance three separate times. In her first scene, she is seen performing an artistic choreography alongside other background dancers and Depp. In the next scene, she appears wearing gray casual clothes and is immersed in practicing a performance. Her last appearance in the trailer shows her dancing at a party.

Jennie confirmed her appearance via an Instagram photo of her in the set with a caption, “coming soon #THEIDOL @samlev00@theidol @hbo”.

See her at the 0:28, 0:33, and 0:59 marks in the trailer below!

The Idol comes from the creative minds of singer Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd), Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, and Reza Fahim. This mature and dark series, set in Los Angeles’ music industry, follows “the sleaziest love story” between an up-and-coming pop singer (Depp) and a self-help guru (Tesfaye).

While most K-pop idols play it safe and appear in more wholesome roles, Jennie decided to go all-in and star in a series that does not shy away from controversial themes of sex, drugs, and vices.

Jennie will appear alongside pop stars like Troye Sivan and Debby Ryan, as well as Rachel Sennott (Shiva Baby), Suzanna Son (Red Rocket), and Hari Nef.

“The Idol” has no official premiere date yet.
