Kapamilya star Gerald Anderson takes on a new challenge in the highly anticipated Book 2 of ABS-CBN’s crime action-drama Sins of the Father, not only reprising his role on screen but also stepping into the director’s chair for one of the series’ most action-packed sequences.

During the media conference, Anderson revealed how his unexpected directing debut came about:

“I was also giving my inputs na pwedeng ganito, pwedeng ganyan. And that’s the beauty of the scene—very collaborative sila. It’s really teamwork, not just one person. During the process, binanggit lang, ‘Gusto mo i-direct mo yang eksenang yan?’ Sabi ko, wow, that would be an honor, a privilege. Syempre kinabahan ako kasi on the spot talaga ako. But the fact that she had that trust in me, parang it gave me the confidence na sige, laban.”

The Kapamilya actor directed a high-octane “1 vs. 100” fight scene in the series, earning respect from co-director FM Reyes, who praised Anderson’s openness and creativity. “Working with Gerald, he is very generous. Kapag binigyan mo siya ng konsepto, he will work and contribute more… That kind of attitude makes it easier to work with him,” Reyes said.

Jessy Mendiola, who returns as Agnes Policarpio, also shared her excitement for the new season, hinting at major developments for her character:

“Huwag kayo mag-alala. This time, lalaban na si Agnes,” she declared.

The upcoming season dives deeper into large-scale scams—spanning money lending, human trafficking, and employment fraud—while introducing new characters that add more intrigue to the story. Joining the cast are Barbie Imperial, Binsoy Namoca, Dylan Yturralde, Eric Fructuoso, Joel Saracho, Junjun Quintana, Kolette Madelo, Lei Ang, Manuel Chua, Mel Martinez, Melissa Mendez, Reign Parani, Simon Ibarra, Zeppi Borromeo, and River Joseph.

Book 2 of “Sins of the Father” promises even darker truths, more gripping action, and fresh faces that mirror real-life stories of scam victims and survivors.

Catch the new season weeknights at 9:30 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, TV5, iWant, and TFC.
