Father Tito Caluag has launched his latest book “Only Your Grace,” a personal guide to having a more intimate relationship with the Lord through prayers, reflection, action, and rhythm.
“A lot of the processes here in the book really came from the basic formation program that we’ve been running for teachers. A lot of people were saying why don’t I convert that to a book so more people can use the process, so that’s how it started,” shared Father Tito.
The first in his three-set volume on prayers and reflection exercises, “Only Your Grace” was inspired by The Spiritual Exercises (SPEX) of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Its 26-week prayer, reflection, and journaling activities aim to guide readers in discovering their own “style of prayer.”
The ABS-CBN Books offering has five chapters—a chapter dedicated to preparing for the prayer journey, in remembering your personal dreams, being aware of your own self, learning about sin, forgiveness, and freedom, and a chapter dedicated to knowing, following, and loving God—all for the hope of creating a personalized approach to faith and spirituality.
“I think all prayers must lead us to know what God wants us to do, what is the mission that God is asking of us. That is one of the main goals, if not the main goal of the book—to help you discern your mission. The second major theme is story and the book will help you recover your story, your personal narrative. I think in the end we discover our mission by rediscovering our story,” he added.
“Only Your Grace” was launched last Sunday (May 30) through a virtual book launch featuring the author’s inspiring conversations with Piolo Pascual, Chris Tiu, and Dingdong Dantes.
Prior to “Only Your Grace,” Father Tito released his prayer and devotional book “Give Thanks and Praise,” which received a special citation at the 42nd Catholic Mass Media Awards’ Best Special Feature category. The book can still be purchased via Lazada and Shopee for only P225, while its e-book version can be availed in Amazon, Kobo, Scribd, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords.
Father Tito is a spiritual adviser who currently serves as the ABS-CBN chaplain and leads the “Kapamilya Daily Mass” and “Kapamilya Sunday Mass,” as well as the inspiriting weekly conversation “Kapamilya Journeys of Hope.”
