Former Filipina beauty queens have expressed their support for the Philippines’ Miss Universe 2023 candidate Celeste Cortesi as the preliminary competition has begun.

Besides posting words of encouragement for the candidate, these queens also showed their fighting spirit by predicting that Cortesi would bring home the crown.

Miss Universe Philippines 2014, MJ Lastimosa, not only showed support through her social media platform but also flew to the pageant’s venue to personally cheer for Cortesi.

“Ang galing ng overall performance ni Celeste. You can’t deny pasok sa banga si ante,” Lastimosa said in her Twitter account.

On the other hand, Miss Universe Philippines 2012, Janine Tugonon, and Miss Universe Philippines 2020, Rabiya Mateo, also showed support for Cortesi.

Janine Tugonon shared snippets of Cortesi’s Darna-inspired costume through her Instagram account and praised its outstanding concept as the national costume entry.

Rabiya Mateo also shared her sentiments on her Instagram account, expressing hope that the Philippines will win the Miss Universe title this year.
