First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos will be the Philippine representative to the World Governments Summit that will be held in Dubai on Feb. 11 to 13, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced on Friday.
âOnly the First Lady,â PCO Acting Secretary Cesar Chavez said, when asked if President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will be going to to the United Arab Emirates for the event.
In a Facebook post, Araneta-Marcos shared a photo of a preliminary meeting at her office, in preparation for her attendance to the summit.
In another post on her official Instagram account, the First Lady said she is âexcited and a bit nervousâ when she received the invitation to be part of the World Governments Summit.
âWe discussed several MOAs (memorandums of agreement) … including the progress of our Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement so as to advance the mutual prosperity of both our countries,â she said.
This yearâs World Governments Summit carries the theme âShaping Future Governments.â
The summit will bring together governments, international organizations, thought leaders, and private sector leaders worldwide to foster international cooperation and identify innovative solutions for future challenges, ultimately inspiring and empowering the next generation of governments.
The program will focus on shaping a better future for humanity and will highlight six main thematic conversations.
The thematic conversations include effective governance and accountability; financing the future and the global economy; climate, crisis, mitigation and resilient cities; human-centric futures and capacity building; global health transformations; and emerging frontiers and the future. (PNA)
