Around 97 percent of the 470 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the chicharon-capital of Carcar City have been validated as “non-poor” under the Listahanan 3, a social welfare official on Monday said.

Shalaine Marie Lucero, regional director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Central Visayas, said these 4Ps graduates have also been considered self-sufficient under the Social Welfare Development Indicator that the agency conducted nationwide.

“Under Listahan 3, we have a remaining 15 4Ps households that no longer have children aged 18 years old and below for education monitoring,” Lucero told the Philippine News Agency.

Lucero also cited the achievements of the graduates as 30 monitored children are already college graduates and 225 are senior high school graduates.

According to her, many members of the 4Ps families are now employed in private companies and the local government units.

She said some are working as overseas Filipino workers, teachers, and officials and personnel of barangays.

“There are some who are engaged in livelihood activities such as livestock raising, food vending, homecare, personal care service providers, farmers, and fishermen,” she added.

Lucero said the agency also welcomed on May 24 at least 911 newly registered 4Ps beneficiaries from Carcar City.
