The newly paved 1.96-kilometer concrete road in barangays Mangin and Tebeng here has been completed to provide the motorists convenient access and alternate route from the busy and congested traffic main highway.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) regional public information officer Esperanza Tinaza said commuters will no longer endure the traffic of the main highway of Calasiao and Mangaldan towns with the completed access road.

“This will also aid in accelerating mobility, economic activity, and efficiency in the delivery of goods and basic services. Now, travelers who wish to go to Calasiao to buy their known puto products, to Mangaldan for the Tapa’s Best, and to the downtown area of Dagupan City, may easily do so by traversing the Mangin-Tebeng Road,” she said.

The project worth PHP11 million was funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2020 and was implemented by the DPWH Pangasinan Second District Engineering Office led by district engineer Edita Manuel.

Meanwhile, in La Union province, a smooth travel experience awaits tourists and visitors of Poro Point Baywalk and Thunderbird Resort with the improved San Fernando Port Road in Barangay San Agustin–Barangay Poro, San Fernando City.

Tinaza said the completed asphalt overlay on the 3.63-kilometer road provided a smoother surface that would ensure that road users would experience a pleasant trip when traversing the road.

Solar street lights were also installed to ensure that drivers and pedestrians are provided with adequate lighting at night, she added. (PNA)
